My planning time Spring 2016 is 2nd block. I am excited about the new semester and look forward to getting to know everyone.
Here is a little about me.
I graduated from the University of Tennesse with a Bachelor of Science in Education and immediately completed my Master’s Degree from East Tennessee State University. I then took time out from my own education to raise two daughters, but in 2005 decided to go back to school. I earned my Educational Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University and had so much fun learning I decided to continue going to school. In 2009 I graduated from Liberty University with my Doctor of Education.
My career begin in a high school in Virginia where I taught high school math for 6 years. We then moved back to Johnson City and I spent 18 years in middle school. I moved from Indian Trail to Science Hill 11 years ago and I have really enjoyed working with older kids again. I can truly say, I have never had a placement I did not love and I feel so lucky to have had my career.
My family includes my husband of 36 years (Jim) and two daughters. Whitney is teaching 7th grade math in Gwinett County, Georgia and Jacqueline is teaching 8th grade math in Williamson County, TN. Both girls are UT grads as well as their husbands. Our blood runs deep orange!!! Whitney and her husband have a little boy named Jackson and a daughter named Rebekah Grace so I am enjoying being a grandmother. Jacqueline and her husband will have a baby boy in June.
